There was really never anyone else with this sort of presence. Who could deliver a line like that. Who could mystify and enchant Bogart. Bon voyage, Ms. Bacall.
What a treasure! I just looked at her filmography on IMDB and am reminded how much I loved Key Largo and the Big Sleep. Those two and To Have & Have Not, are clearly her early standouts.
To Have and Have Not....a good movie but not true to the book. However, with Bacall on screen...who cares.
