Hello!

Welcome to The Epic! I am launching this blog as a manifesto for and a guide to living well. The title and motto of the blog are taken from the Epicureans, at least some of whom believed in the notion that not one minute of the future was guaranteed to them and that as a result they had the duty to live life to its fullest every moment.

I believe in discovering fun and pleasurable things wherever I find myself each day and I am told I have a knack for unearthing them. My hope is that by sharing in my pleasures and some of my ways of finding them you will begin to collect all the riches that lie in the moments of your life. They are there. Take them! All our lives should be.....Epic.

Know it well...only about 15 minutes from my place. we must be nearly neighbors

Longwing, as do I. I think.

MLS, we aren't neighbors, but if we were you could always find me at the WVI, which I contend is the best bar anywhere.

"It's a Quarter to Three

except you and me..."

That's almost not a fuzzy pic. With photoshop, it's almost art. I've always been a 2 olive guy, too.

Ben, as close to art as it gets afer an afternoon sitting at a bar drinking when it is FREEZING out.

Petunia, wait until you see my NOLA one next month..

Barbara, you are mysterious to me...do I know you? Anyhow, thanks for the reference to my favorite song EVER. I agree.

Isn't the displacement with two olives a little severe?

Tintin you are correct sir. My great friend Col. Joe always asks for his olives on the side to eliminate the issue.

This wasn't the first cocktail of the afternoon so I'm not exactly sure how the olives got there at all. The bartender, Regina, is one of the greats however so I just trust her judgment. Like a brain surgeon.
