Hello!

Welcome to The Epic! I am launching this blog as a manifesto for and a guide to living well. The title and motto of the blog are taken from the Epicureans, at least some of whom believed in the notion that not one minute of the future was guaranteed to them and that as a result they had the duty to live life to its fullest every moment.

I believe in discovering fun and pleasurable things wherever I find myself each day and I am told I have a knack for unearthing them. My hope is that by sharing in my pleasures and some of my ways of finding them you will begin to collect all the riches that lie in the moments of your life. They are there. Take them! All our lives should be.....Epic.

From The Epic Cellar: Kung Fu Girl Riesling

Some years ago I was at a wine tasting dinner at a very nice restaurant near Philadelphia when the nice young lady sommelier did a segment on "Weird Wines I Love".  Kung Fu Girl Riesling was one of them. The ten of us at the dinner fell in love with this wonderful wine that night as well and now you can get Kung Fu Girl all over the U.S for well under $20 a bottle. This wine pairs well with just about any food and is lovely to just sip out on the back porch on a hot summer day.  It has all the floral, apple, pear and other notes of a great Riesling at a very affordable price. No wonder it was named a "Best Value" by Wine Spectator Magazine several years running.  I have not met a person that didn't love Kung Fu Girl.

If you are looking for a crisp, great bottle of wine at a good price that will impress any wine drinker you may invite over, I strongly recommend Kung Fu Girl.  Cheers!!
