Welcome to The Epic! I am launching this blog as a manifesto for and a guide to living well. The title and motto of the blog are taken from the Epicureans, at least some of whom believed in the notion that not one minute of the future was guaranteed to them and that as a result they had the duty to live life to its fullest every moment.
I believe in discovering fun and pleasurable things wherever I find myself each day and I am told I have a knack for unearthing them. My hope is that by sharing in my pleasures and some of my ways of finding them you will begin to collect all the riches that lie in the moments of your life. They are there. Take them! All our lives should be.....Epic.

Haiku For Tessa
Sophisticated.
Gifted lover of vodka.
Where is she today?
Disapparated.
Without a trace or shadow.
My glass now empty.
So fill the shaker.
Prepare a tray of scoffing.
Wait for her return.
Love your haikus :) And thank you so much for your supportive comments about my book. You were one of the first people to encourage me so thank you very much! And what's this I read in your profile about a novel? Is there one on the horizon? Can't wait!
DC, I am getting a copy of your book as soon as it comes out! I have an outline for a book but life has just been too crazy lately to devote my fried brain to it.
M. Lane- I hear you. I don't even know how I wrote this last one... there were a lot of late nights! One thing that propelled me to write this one (and the mystery I have yet to pub) was taking a writing class. It's nice to be amongst a group of people going through the same process. Any novel you'd write would be excellent. You must make it a priority one day.
In my early 60s, widower, father and itinerant storyteller. I am a putative jazz singer, poet and novelist, dedicated to mining every minute of life for the veins of pleasure they contain. My motto is "Dum Vivimus, Vivamus"..."While we Live--LET US LIVE".

A moving piece...well crafted Sir.
I was wondering what happened.
A time. For writing.
A time. Done - Well.
I miss her.
