Hello!
Welcome to The Epic! I am launching this blog as a manifesto for and a guide to living well. The title and motto of the blog are taken from the Epicureans, at least some of whom believed in the notion that not one minute of the future was guaranteed to them and that as a result they had the duty to live life to its fullest every moment.
I believe in discovering fun and pleasurable things wherever I find myself each day and I am told I have a knack for unearthing them. My hope is that by sharing in my pleasures and some of my ways of finding them you will begin to collect all the riches that lie in the moments of your life. They are there. Take them! All our lives should be.....Epic.

Looking back on it, he had not accomplished all that much. Still, he had come up with four or five great lines. And he had enough from that to buy Calvados and fresh flowers.

I read once that Sir Elton John spends something like $100,000 per month on fresh cut flowers for his Atlanta, Georgia penthouse. Upon learning this, it became my benchmark for really making it big. Say what you will for Bentleys, jets, and jewelry, once this blog effort takes off, I'm blowing my money on a valet and fresh cut flowers. Lots of them. Delivered all the time. I can't imagine anything more elegant.
Until then, I am very pleased to say that my local Huge Discount Store has lovely bouquets like this one at such a low price that I can regularly buy them. Put something pretty in your own path. It will make you feel like a million bucks. Even if it only cost five.

M. Lane,
You are both a scholar and a gentleman!

Something we don't have nearly enough of. My wife is starting a cut flower bed just to have fresh flowers in the house.
When my blog makes it big, I'm investing in a large country estate where I can grow my own fabulous flowers at home. I'll skip the $100,000 a month for the florist, and I don't a valet. But a majordomo would be nice, I've always wanted one.
Love your flowers- and agree that they add so much to a room- whether they are $5 or $50! Hope you're having a wonderful summer
BG, you flatter me. I love it.
Turling, what a grand effort! I have no ability with plants or I might try it too.
Belle, love country estates but they have to have staff. No more riding around on a mower for me after I break out. And I want JEEVES not just any valet!! As for a majordomo, how about that fellow off of Tom Sellick's TV show? He was good at it.
DC, how nice to see your comment! I KNOW you are having such a marvelous and busy summer with le petite enfant. Thanks for taking time to come by!
Thanks everyone for your visits and comments...

Fun blog, usually when I hit the "next" button on my blog it takes me to a mommy blog, Zzz. Refreshing!
SCW, thanks! I hope you keep coming by.

Love "put something pretty in your path." Love, love, love it. We can be in control of the beauty of the paths we take!
Julie, thanks for the visit! Taking control of our chances for fun and pleasure is what Epic living is all about.
