Hello!

Welcome to The Epic! I am launching this blog as a manifesto for and a guide to living well. The title and motto of the blog are taken from the Epicureans, at least some of whom believed in the notion that not one minute of the future was guaranteed to them and that as a result they had the duty to live life to its fullest every moment.

I believe in discovering fun and pleasurable things wherever I find myself each day and I am told I have a knack for unearthing them. My hope is that by sharing in my pleasures and some of my ways of finding them you will begin to collect all the riches that lie in the moments of your life. They are there. Take them! All our lives should be.....Epic.

Epic Cinema: Midnight In Paris (2011)

I just saw it today. Do yourself a favor. If you are a fan of The Epic, you will love this movie. It is my new favorite movie. Ever. Displacing the hitherto undisplacable The Quite Man.

Do yourself another favor. This movie deserves a fine meal. Before. Not after. After, you want to be sitting by yourself, having a Calvados, listening to Cole Porter. Wondering about yourself. And about whether all times really do coexist. Having seen this movie I certainly hope they do.

I've made up my mind. In the early months of 2012, I'm going.

SP, I'll go with you! I am dying to see it again.

MLS, I agree the celeb characters were marvelous with Hem being the best. And how can you beat Carla Bruni?

You take the Irish Redhead and GO TO PARIS! I look forward to enjoying it vicariously through you.

My favorite MIP cast member: Kathy Bates as Gertrude Stein.

CL, she can't travel due to health issues. I'm going alone....

I loved Gertrude Stein, but Hemingway was the BOMB.

M.L. It's a date! I didnt see it last week as I opted to spend the few hours I had sans males simply sitting in silence enjoying the peace and quiet.

I will see to see if I can squeeze it in this week...the problem is it's playing 50 kms away!
